Karma in Relationships

The encounter that produces a spiritual polarity and an intense mutual love can be the result of many different circumstances. The twin flame tie is one. Soul mates is another. And then there is karma. The karmic tie may be the tightest of all. Because it is not free, it is binding. Because it is not balanced, the internal harmonies are wanting. And from time to time, there is an emptiness, a loneliness, that reveals the inadequacy of a relationship based solely on karma. This, too, shall pass .

We may have several such relationships with people with whom we have made karma in our past lives—good karma and bad karma. Sometimes the worse the karma, the more intense the impact when we first meet someone, because this is God—the God [5] we ourselves have imprisoned through past negative activity—and we run to greet that one to set him (her) free from our own past transgressions of his (her) being. And we love much because there is much to be forgiven.

A negative experience of the past—such as violence, passionate hatred, murder, non-caring for one’s children, one’s family, something that you have been involved in with someone else that has caused an imbalance both in their soul and in yours and perhaps in the lives of many—is experienced as a weight upon the heart and an absence of resolution at the soul level. This is a very gnawing condition that troubles our consciousness until it is resolved by love.

Your soul knows why you have come into embodiment. You have been told by your spiritual teachers, your Christ Self, or guardian angel: “There is this situation with so-and-so that requires resolution. You and this person, by your neglect, by your failure to act, once caused the collapse of this city. Or because you walked away from your responsibility many people were involved in a famine.”

These are not unlikely situations. The ramifications of what we do by committing sin or by refusing to serve life are very great, and they’re very heavy. At inner levels the soul who is on the Homeward path (going home to the Father-Mother God) is very conscientious and desirous of righting the wrongs of the past—because she knows that righting the wrongs of lifetimes of ignorant and erroneous sowings is the only way to get back to the heavenly place we started from.

On the bright side, a Master may have told you before you took embodiment in this life that because of the many constructive labors for humanity you have done together, you are assigned an even greater responsibility with this person in this life. And because of your good karma, you will be happy and fruitful and have many victories for the right.

In this century of our souls’ acceleration toward Aquarius you may experience more than one relationship of both kinds. We are winding up the loose ends of our karma with a number of people in this cycle of history.
